Silver Springs

Silver Springs, Nature's Theme Park, is located four and a half miles east of the Wilderness RV Park. The Silver Springs Park is a Florida tradition. It was declared a Natural Landmark in 1972. In 1973 Silver Springs began a Wildlife Rehabilitation Program to help and care for injured wild animals. The park now has a botanical garden along the banks of the Silver River.

Silver Springs offers the only boat tour of a natural spring in Florida. Silver Springs has been offering Glass Bottom Boat Rides since the 1870s. The first rides were on a glass bottomed row boat. Nowadays the boats are comfortable, covered and offer superb views of the crystal clear river. The Silver Spring glass bottomed boats take you through the headwaters of the Silver River. You get to see original spring formations, wildlife and unspoiled nature. The captains will regale you with the illustrious history of Silver Springs as you tour the springs.
